A vacancy has arisen for a North American Regional Sales Manager for S3’s Consumer Systems Business Unit. The required candidate will be based in S3’s San Jose office, in the heart of Silicon Valley, and will be specifically tasked with growing S3’s sales revenue in the North American market for the company’s Consumer Home and Consumer Mobile business lines.
The successful candidate will have an excellent working knowledge of consumer software technology sales gained from in-depth experience with the North American market segments of Broadcast Digital TV technology for Satellite, Cable, Terrestrial, IPTV or Mobile TV. A candidate’s technical background should be balanced by extensive sales experience. While this role has no direct reports it is considered a leadership, business development, and selling position.
Reporting to the General Manager North America, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Significantly increasing S3’s sales of the consumer systems product and services portfolio in North America including key elements of S3’s Consumer Home and Consumer Mobile value propositions
- Meeting sales and revenue targets for S3’s North American territory
- Leading the sales proposal process for target customers
- Sales budgeting and planning
- Management and development of selected areas of S3’s customer base
- Planning and execution of quarterly business review meetings with key customers in the territory
- Developing and maintaining an innovative business plan which will include key customer, financial and market information
- Identifying key customer requirements
- Identifying prime contacts within target customers and developing relationships with same
- Identifying and developing new customers and markets based on S3 business development plan
- Providing competitive and market information on an ongoing basis
- Reporting on market perceptions of S3’s products and services
- Reporting on key competitors and their strategies and activities in the marketplace.
Requirements:
- 7 to 10 years experience in selling high-technology embedded software solutions with proven quota achievement
- Honours degree or post-graduate qualification in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- Excellent knowledge of both product and professional service sales and associated business processes
- Ability to quickly and effectively understand customers’ requirements and to present the relevant S3 solutions in a highly relevant and professional manner
- Ability to develop and maintain long-term business relationships with customers
- Ability to work effectively as part of S3’s team to develop winning value propositions for our customers
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, within a defined sales process
- Willingness to travel frequently within North America and occasional travel to Latin America and Europe
- Ability and willingness to engage in cold calling potential customers
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong oral, presentation and written communication skills
- Further business training in sales and marketing desired.
