John Mulcahy is S3's General Manager for Consumer Healthcare and Lifestyle. John focuses on delivering Whole Consumer Product Development, Clinical Applications for Healthcare Unbound Systems and Consumer Health Gateways, adding healthcare and lifestyle functionality to consumer devices. S3's Consumer Healthcare Business Line leverages a twenty year legacy of consumer systems expertise as well as chip design capabilities and proven embedded software experience. 

John joined S3 in 1989 as a software engineer, he led multiple large-scale leading-edge telecommunications and consumer product developments before being appointed Section Manager for Digital Consumer in 1998. He founded S3’s Wroclaw office in Poland in 2000. John recently took up the gauntlet of General Manager for Consumer Healthcare and Lifestyle while he continues to manage the company’s Polish operation. John has played a pivotal role in the development of strategic relationships with some of S3’s largest customers including IBM, Intel, Philips, Lucent and Anagran amongst others.

John holds a First Class Honors degree in Electronic Engineering (B.Eng.) from the University of Limerick and is currently studying for a MBA from Imperial College, expected to be completed by 2008. John is also an active member of the IEEE Computer and Communications Societies as well as the Continua Alliance.
