S3 Announces the Appointment of George Mudie as Director of Product Strategy, Consumer Systems

Dublin, Ireland & San Jose, January 7th, 2008 – Silicon & Software Systems (S3) today announced that it has appointed George Mudie as Director of Product Strategy for its Consumer Systems Business Unit. Mudie joins S3 from BSkyB in London where he was Director of Customer and Interactive Technology for the past 3 years. His responsibilities in this role included managing the security and integrity of the satellite platform as well as the design and delivery of customer facing solutions such as High Definition (HD), Sky+, interactive TV solutions and Anytime TV. Prior to BSkyB Mudie was a Senior Manager at the Vodafone Group in Newbury.

Mudie is tasked with leading the development of a multi-year product portfolio, validating specific market initiatives and identifying new potential high-growth product market areas for the company. S3 has already built a strong product business globally however the company also recognizes the need to continue to hire senior executives with the right product expertise in order to further this success in the future.

Commenting on his appointment Mudie said, “S3 is an exciting, dynamic company with some excellent engineering skills and over 20 years consumer systems expertise and experience. This role represents a welcome change for me in a new and flexible working environment and I am looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead in implementing S3’s product strategy for their Consumer Systems business.”
