CoreMedia Presents Secure End-to-End Mobile TV Solution For DVB-H 3GSM World Congress 2007

BARCELONA, Spain & HAMBURG, Germany - 6th February 2007 - CoreMedia, the global provider of software solutions for convergent content business, presents at the 3GSM the world's first end-to-end service protection solution for Mobile TV via DVB-H secured by 18Crypt.

In collaboration with its partners NXP Software, the leading ISV of mobile multimedia solutions, NXP Semiconductors, the newly independent semiconductor company founded by Philips, and Silicon & Software Systems Ltd. (S3), the world leader in Connected Consumer Technology solutions, CoreMedia has developed a truly interoperable end-to-end solution for Mobile TV that lives up to the high expectations of operators and consumers.

The successful integration of the CoreMedia 18Crypt solution with the technology of the interoperable client enablers NXP and S3 is yet another milestone in the further development of Mobile TV and will push its market to the next level. The joint development is based on open standards and thus has broad support in the industry. By complying to open standards of 18Crypt based on OMA DRM 2.0 this solution will lead to a broader variety of handsets for Mobile TV.

"CoreMedia's passion for interoperability and the highly innovative designs and developments is a driving force in the future market of Mobile TV," says Willms Buhse, Executive Director of CoreMedia. "Our fully interoperable end-to-end Mobile TV platform enables the business of 'TV to go'."

Interest for Mobile TV is spreading from early adopters to a mainstream audience. Future-proof interoperability is therefore the key to success in this emerging market. CoreMedia's pursuit for open standards in close cooperation with NXP and S3 addresses the needs of the broadcasters and content industry to protect their valuable content. At the same time it allows operators to deploy proven solutions in an effective way.

"Our collaboration with CoreMedia and S3 demonstrates the strengths of NXP for 3G that designers and manufacturers can leverage to build an end-to-end solution for a secure TV-on-mobile experience," said Carsten Schimanke, International Product Marketing Manager, Cellular Systems, NXP Semiconductors. "To enable these secure TV-on-mobile services, our partner NXP Software delivers the highly robust 18C compliant Trust Broadcast software for handset makers."

"The combination of Coremedia's 18Crypt protection, NXP's 3G reference phone platform and S3's Mobile DTV Client software, clearly demonstrates to operators that the technology required to deploy 18Crypt based networks is available today," said John Maguire, General Manager, Consumer Mobile, S3. "S3's ongoing strategy is to work with best-in-class suppliers in this market to enable end-to-end interoperable solutions designed to meet the needs of the mobile and broadcast operators."
