| The Problem | A major Tier 1 mobile phone manufacturer wanted to try and ensure that the US ATSC standards body would adopt the OMA-BCAST standard for use in their own mobile TV specification. To this end they needed a rapid prototype demonstrating how such a system would meet the needs of the new standard. |

| The Solution | S3 Group ported our onHandTV® OMA-BCAST compliant middleware and applications to the Linux based portable media device and integrated it with prototype ATSC tuner/receiver hardware by developing the required Linux drivers. |
| The Outcome | This prototype was tested against live mobile ATSC trial transmissions in the US as part of an exercise to demonstrate to the ATSC that it was a valid candidate for inclusion in the Standard. |
