| The Problem | The Operator took a decision to upgrade all of their STBs in the field to newer generation CA to take advantage of advanced features on offer. While these new features offered opportunities for new revenue streams and so justified modifying the installed CA system, it was critical that the upgrade was completed without in any way endangering the security of the broadcast content. One of the key difficulties for the Operator was that this upgrade needed to take place without involvement of the OEM. |
